A Scripture Path to Understanding Salvation
Five biblical movements from our need to new life in Jesus Christ

Salvation is not a vague spiritual improvement or a reward for becoming respectable. It is God’s gracious rescue of sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Use these five passages as a connected reading path. Read each in context, write what it teaches, and discuss your questions with a pastor or mature believer.

Romans 1:16–25; Romans 3:21–26
See God’s holiness and our need
Romans names both the human rejection of God and God’s righteous provision in Christ. We do not diagnose sin to produce despair, but to understand why grace is necessary.
Ask what the passages say about God, humanity, sin, righteousness, faith, and redemption.

1 Corinthians 15:1–8; Ephesians 2:1–10
Receive the work of Christ
The gospel announces historical good news: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised. Salvation is received by grace through faith, not achieved by works.
The grace that saves also creates a people for good works. Obedience is fruit, not the purchase price of acceptance.

Respond with repentance and faith
Jesus calls people to repent, believe the gospel, and follow Him. Repentance turns from sin; faith entrusts the whole self to Christ.
Speak honestly to God. Then make your response visible through baptism, life in a faithful church, and a growing life of obedience.
Faithful response
Use the action plan.
Read one passage each day for five days.
Write a one-paragraph summary of the gospel using the passages.
Discuss your response and questions with a pastor or mature Christian.
Help another man
Walk with someone.
Open the passages rather than relying on slogans.
Do not pressure a response you cannot explain biblically.
Connect a new believer quickly to baptism, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and pastoral care in a local church.

Begin with the Gospel
Walk through the good news of Jesus Christ: who He is, why we need Him, what He accomplished, and how we respond with repentance and faith.
